Finally...we are leaving Miami and heading for the Bahamas.
At the moment we are anchored out in Biscayne Bay...waiting
a few hours before we leave so we arrive at South Bimini at first light (it’s
about 46 nautical miles from where we are anchored).
We plan to clear in at South Bimini...and then if the
weather window holds we will head right back out across the banks (about a 24
hour trip) heading for New Providence Island (Nassau) so we can get some
protection behind the island before the “norther” comes through.
Looks like a lovely warm night for a sail/motor across the
gulf stream
